About Us

The HCC Tennis Center, recently awarded a 2021 Outstanding Facility Award by the USTA, is home to thousands of tennis & pickleball players throughout the Tampa Bay Area of all ages and skill levels. We are also home to top touring tennis professionals in the world as well as our collegiate tennis team who were NJCAA national champions in 2023 and 2008. Our programming features open court play as well as clinics, lessons, and leagues. We also host several different tournaments, leagues, and special events throughout the year. Our goal here at the tennis center is to always provide a positive experience for our players, members, and anyone who walks through the door.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Tennis Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tennis instruction and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels. This role involves teaching tennis techniques, developing training programs, and engaging with students to enhance their skills while promoting a love for the sport.

You will be responsible for teaching junior and adult group clinics (ranging in ages and levels) as well as conducting private, semi-private, and group lessons for our players and members. Given how busy we are and how many available lesson opportunities you will have, being able to organize and adhere to a busy schedule is also is a big part of the position.

As an HCC Tennis Center Tennis Professional, you are expected to be professional, punctual, and demonstrate good communication skills. Coaches must have at least 2 years of private or club coaching experience as well as experience with ROGY (red, orange, green, yellow ball) tennis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group tennis lessons for various skill levels.
• Develop and implement training programs tailored to the needs of students.
• Organize and supervise tennis clinics, camps, and tournaments.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to improve their performance.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants.
• Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, rules, and strategies.
• Ability to motivate and inspire students of diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with pickleball or willingness to learn is preferred but not required.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)
