Who are we and why are we recruiting?
C-TEC are a privately owned, proud british manufacturer of life safety equipment based in the North West. We have been based in Wigan for 40 years, with many of our staff being with us since our early days. Since then we have seen tremendous growth, and due to continuing worldwide demand and new product releases, we are looking to further expand our team.
This role is based at our state of the art R&D facility in Mawdesley, Parbold. The hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on a Friday afternoon.
What is the purpose of this role?
To support the verification and approval of new and existing electronic products by carrying out structured verification and pre-compliance testing. The role ensures products are suitable for release and submission to third-party test and certification bodies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Carry out verification and pre-compliance testing of new products, variants and redesigns.
· Execute functional, electrical and environmental tests in line with internal test plans.
· Accurately record test methods, results and failure observations.
· Maintain clear and traceable test records suitable for engineering review and evidence packs.
· Support engineers with fault reproduction, regression testing and investigation activities.
· Provide structured feedback on failure symptoms, repeatability and likely conditions.
· Prepare samples, documentation and evidence packs for external test houses.
· Support controlled preparation of units (configuration, identification, traceability) for submission.
· Maintain laboratory equipment, fixtures and test areas in a safe and orderly condition.
· Support continuous improvement of verification processes and test methods.
What we're looking for:
· Qualification to HNC/HND, degree level OR equivalent experience in electronics or a related discipline.
· Ability to follow defined test procedures accurately and repeatably.
· Clear written communication skills for recording test results.
· Methodical, organised and reliable approach to work.
· Experience working in a regulated or standards-driven environment.
· Practical experience of electronics testing or laboratory-based technical work.
· Exposure to verification, pre-compliance or approvals-related activity.
· Awareness of EN, BS or IEC product standards.
· Hands-on soldering, rework or prototype modification skills.
This is a hands-on, practical role. Ideal for someone ready to further their career in electronics, working alongside industry experts in research, development & design.
