Test Architect (Playwright)

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end automation solutions using Playwright across UI, API, and integrated systems.
• Design and build scalable, reusable Playwright frameworks using modern design patterns including POM, fixtures, custom utilities, and modular architecture.
• Establish automation standards, folder structures, naming conventions, and governance models.
• Integrate Playwright automation into CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and GitLab.
• Drive cross-browser, parallel, and headless execution strategies.
• Implement reporting, logging, debugging, and observability best practices.
• Collaborate with Dev, DevOps, and Product teams to enable shift-left testing.
• Provide technical mentorship to automation engineers and conduct framework/code reviews.
• Evaluate and recommend complementary tools for API automation, mocking, and test data management.
• Explore and implement AI-assisted testing techniques including self-healing locators, intelligent test generation, and flaky test detection.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in automation engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Playwright.
• JavaScript/TypeScript mandatory; Java or Python is a plus.
• Proven experience designing and scaling Playwright frameworks from scratch.
• Strong understanding of fixtures and custom test setup in Playwright.
• Strong understanding of parallel execution and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of cross-browser automation strategies.
• Strong understanding of API automation using Playwright or REST libraries.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD integration.
• Deep knowledge of Git workflows.
• Deep knowledge of automation reporting tools.
• Experience working in Agile environments with DevOps alignment.
