Test Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Test Assistant Manager with strong EMS/manufacturing experience to lead test engineering activities and support fast-moving production operations. The role will oversee Engineers and Technicians, drive test performance and improvements, and work closely with internal teams and customers on technical matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage Test Engineers and Technicians in daily test engineering and production support activities.
• Drive test process improvement, yield enhancement, troubleshooting, and resolution of hardware/software-related issues.
• Support NPI, product transfer, production ramp-up, and fast-moving manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain test processes, equipment, fixtures, and procedures to meet quality and production requirements.
• Analyze test data and implement corrective actions to improve test efficiency, reliability, and productivity.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Production, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.
• Engage with customers when required to discuss technical issues, requirements, and solutions.
• Support test-related costing and project planning where applicable.

About you

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• EMS / electronics manufacturing experience with proven experience in a test engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of hardware and software, with good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading and developing Engineers and Technicians.
• Good understanding of NPI and high-volume / fast-moving manufacturing operations.
• Strong technical communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in customer-facing technical discussions.
• Knowledge of costing is an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
