Test Automation Engineer

As an Automated Java Tester at Ivy Partners, you will:

• Specify software components, develop automated tests in Java to verify them, and ensure full traceability between requirements, tests, and results.

• Read and understand regulatory rules and the quality level required for products.

• Draft, review, and update component requirements based on system requirements of the equipment.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Java, JUnit, and our internal testing frameworks.

• Occasionally contribute to tests in Python or with Cucumber/Gherkin.

• Review and test components against their specifications.

• Link each test to the requirement it covers and keep the traceability matrix updated.

• Analyze test failures to identify root causes: component defects, test or requirement issues.

• Describe and track anomalies in JIRA.

• Participate in formal system acceptance tests (Factory Acceptance Test) as needed.

About You

• Have at least 5 years of experience in a safety-critical field such as air traffic control, aerospace, rail, medical, automotive, defense, or nuclear sectors.

• Possess strong Java development skills, used on a daily basis.

• Have proven experience in test automation with JUnit and Jenkins, preferably including the design or enhancement of a testing framework.

• Are experienced in writing software requirement specifications and technical documentation.

• Practice traceability between requirements and tests using a dedicated tool (DOORS, Polarion, Jama, Reqtify, or equivalent).

• Are fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Have knowledge of ESARR6/EC482, ED153, IEC 61508, and ISO 12207 standards.

• Are familiar with Python , Cucumber for Java, and Gherkin .

• Know how to use JIRA and test result management tools.
