Test Automation Engineer

At HexaIO we are looking for a Test Automation Engineers with hands-on experience in automated frontend, process and performance testing for one of our banking clients. Work is hybrid, with 3 days per week onsite in Budapest, District XIII.

It is a strong advantage if you use AI-based tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar solutions) on a daily basis and can apply them productively to test design, scripting and analysis.

As a Test Automation Engineer, You Will

• Design, build and maintain automated frontend and end-to-end test suites with Selenium.
• Automate the testing of business processes across banking web applications and integrated systems.
• Create and run performance and load tests in JMeter, and analyse the results with developers.
• Set up and maintain connectivity and health check tests for services and interfaces.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep regression runs stable.
• Report, track and retest defects together with developers, business analysts and QA colleagues.
• Work with the bank's standard test tooling and help improve test coverage and practices.
• Use AI-assisted tools to speed up test creation, maintenance and result analysis.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in test automation
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for frontend and process testing
• Practical experience with JMeter for performance and connectivity testing
• Programming skills in Java, Python or C# for writing test code
• Some experience in banking or financial services projects, or with AI tools
• Agile mindset and a proactive, self-driven working style
• Fluent Hungarian and conversational English

Hands-on familiarity with as many of the following as possible:

• Git and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps)
• TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber or similar test frameworks
• REST API testing with Postman or REST Assured
• SQL for test data preparation and validation
• Jira, Xray or similar test management tools

Nice to Have

• Previous work in banking or other regulated financial environments
• Experience using AI tools in testing or development workflows
• Familiarity with Grafana or similar monitoring tools for performance analysis
• ISTQB certification
