Test Automation Engineer – Aerospace & Space Systems

An innovative, rapidly expanding space technology company is looking for a Test Automation Engineer to develop automated test solutions supporting the production, integration, and validation of advanced satellite hardware.

This is a hands-on engineering opportunity where you'll design, build, program, and troubleshoot automated test systems used to validate complex mechanical and electromechanical flight hardware.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and develop automated test equipment (ATE), test fixtures, and industrial automation systems.
• Develop Python scripts for test sequencing, data acquisition, and instrument control.
• Integrate microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and embedded electronics into automated test setups.
• Work with communication protocols including I2C, SPI, CAN, and UART.
• Support functional testing and characterization of spacecraft mechanisms and actuators.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and instrumentation issues throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop robust, scalable test solutions.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience developing automated test equipment or industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
• Hands-on experience with embedded electronics, sensors, microcontrollers, and communication protocols.
• Understanding of electromechanical systems, actuators, and instrumentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
