What they need
Test Engineer – Dynamics / Vibration | Spacecraft Hardware
I’m partnering with a rapidly growing space organization developing and manufacturing next-generation satellite hardware, and we’re looking for a Test Engineer – Dynamics / Vibration to join the team.
This is a highly hands-on engineering role supporting the qualification and acceptance testing of flight hardware and spacecraft mechanisms, taking ownership from test planning and fixture development through execution, troubleshooting, data analysis and final reporting.
You’ll be working directly with real flight hardware, helping ensure spacecraft systems can survive the demanding mechanical environments associated with launch and operation in space.
What you’ll be working on:
Planning and executing vibration and dynamics test campaigns on spacecraft flight hardware
Performing random vibration, sine vibration and shock testing
Working directly with shaker systems, accelerometers, instrumentation and test hardware
Applying force-limited vibration testing techniques
Analysing PSD data and interpreting test results
Supporting structural and fatigue assessments, including S-N curves and Goodman diagrams
Performing functional testing of spacecraft mechanisms, including deployment, actuation and torque-margin testing
Troubleshooting hardware and test anomalies
Developing test procedures, fixtures and instrumentation plans
Analysing test data and producing engineering reports
Supporting investigations and corrective actions arising from test findings
Working closely with Design, Analysis, Mechanisms, Manufacturing and AI&T teams
What we’re looking for:
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline
Experience with vibration/dynamics testing of aerospace, spacecraft or other complex hardware
Hands-on experience with shakers and vibration test equipment
Understanding of PSD analysis, Miles' equation and force-limited testing
Familiarity with structural and fatigue analysis fundamentals
Understanding of mechanical mechanisms and functional testing principles
Experience with GD&T and aerospace materials is beneficial
Experience working within AS9100D / AS9145 environments is a plus
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being close to the hardware, combining dynamics and vibration expertise with mechanisms testing, structural fundamentals and real spacecraft qualification.
Other offers great for you!
