Test Engineer I

We are building our in-house Reliability Lab team and are seeking a Test Engineer I to support mechanical testing activities for Molex products. In this role, you will contribute to product validation, reliability assessment, and failure analysis efforts while collaborating with engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality testing results. Our Team

You will join the Reliability Lab team, working alongside test engineers, technicians, and cross-functional product development teams to evaluate the performance, durability, and reliability of electrical connectors and modules. Our team supports innovation through data-driven testing and analysis that helps ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

• Execute electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing on production products, prototypes, and validation samples.
• Partner with technicians and other engineers to perform product reliability and performance evaluations.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot standard and custom laboratory test equipment.
• Utilize equipment such as microscopes, load frames, environmental chambers, and electrical measurement instruments to support testing activities.
• Analyze test results and develop conclusions regarding product performance and reliability.
• Prepare detailed technical reports that clearly document objectives, methods, equipment used, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Participate in the design, development, debugging, and implementation of new testing systems and laboratory capabilities.
• Perform standard failure analysis investigations and support corrective action activities through structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate results and recommend improvements.
• Support Quality Management System requirements by following approved procedures and laboratory best practices.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• One or more years of experience in a laboratory, testing, or engineering environment.
• Experience working with laboratory equipment and measurement systems.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret technical data.
• Experience preparing technical reports and documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and connectivity.
• Experience executing USCAR and OEM validation specifications.
• Understanding of mechanical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Experience using test management tools such as Polarion and Jira.
• Experience performing product failure analysis and root cause investigations.
• Advanced spreadsheet and data analysis skills, including Pivot Tables.
• Experience supporting reliability, validation, or product qualification testing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
