Job Purpose:

A leading aerospace and propulsion technology company is seeking a Test Engineer II to perform testing and verification activities for embedded electronic and control systems. This role will develop and execute test procedures based on system and subsystem requirements, set up and operate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and laboratory test environments, and support ECU hardware and software integration testing, working closely with systems, hardware, software, controls, and engine test teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform testing and verification activities for embedded electronic and control systems
• Develop and execute test procedures based on system and subsystem requirements
• Set up and operate HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and laboratory test environments
• Perform functional, integration, interface, and system-level testing
• Support ECU hardware and software integration testing
• Test sensors, actuators, communication interfaces, and control functions
• Configure test equipment, data acquisition systems, simulators, and test benches
• Analyze test data, identify anomalies, and support troubleshooting and root-cause investigation
• Support automated testing and development of test scripts where required
• Document test results, test evidence, issues, and verification reports
• Support environmental, qualification, and acceptance testing activities
• Work closely with systems, hardware, software, controls, and engine test teams

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer, Control, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
• Typically 4–5 years of experience in testing, verification, integration, or embedded systems
• Hands-on experience with HIL testing and test bench environments
• Experience with embedded electronic systems, ECUs, or control systems
• Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, and data acquisition systems
• Understanding of sensors, actuators, analog/digital signals, and electrical interfaces
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, RS-232/422/485, Ethernet, or similar interfaces
• Experience with test procedures, test execution, data analysis, and technical reporting
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Advantageous:

• Experience with aerospace, defense, automotive, propulsion, or other safety-critical systems
• Experience with ECU or engine control system testing
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, Python, or similar test and automation tools
• Familiarity with MIL/SIL/HIL testing environments
• Knowledge of environmental and EMC/EMI testing
• Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools such as DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, or equivalent
• Basic familiarity with aerospace standards such as DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD-810, or MIL-STD-461
