Test Engineer – Payments, Python & Automation

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Expert Test Engineer with approximately Hands on years of experience in software testing, primarily within the banking and payments domain.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, Python, Robot Framework, and Jenkins, along with a solid understanding of payment systems and financial services. In this role, you will lead QA activities, enhance automated test coverage, improve testing processes, and accelerate delivery while ensuring the quality and reliability of data-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to identify test scenarios and define appropriate testing strategies.
• Design, develop, implement, and execute test cases for payment applications and related systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Python and Robot Framework.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Perform API and microservices testing, including REST-based services.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and manual testing when required.
• Perform root cause analysis, investigate defects, generate bug reports, and track issues through resolution.
• Prepare, manage, and maintain test data required for effective test execution.
• Proactively improve automated test coverage, framework efficiency, and overall testing effectiveness.
• Create and optimize release test plans, testing tools, and test execution reports.
• Develop and implement testing processes for new and existing products to meet business and client requirements.
• Lead and coordinate QA activities across delivery teams, promoting an automation-first approach.
• Collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and other team members in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Stay up to date with emerging testing tools, automation technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Approximately Hands on years of experience in software testing, preferably in banking and payments.
• Strong knowledge of payment systems and financial services processes.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Robot Framework, and Jenkins.
• Good understanding of software testing principles, preferably aligned with ISTQB Foundation Level.
• Experience with test automation tools, test management tools, and defect management processes.
• Practical experience working in Agile Scrum teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to lead QA activities, drive automation adoption, and continuously improve testing practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence team members toward automation-driven quality engineering.
