Test Engineer Working Student (m/f/d)

We are a passionate startup from Munich dedicated to providing safety for everyone around the world – for free. Our app connects you immediately with people you trust in emergency situations, whether it be family, friends, or local security forces. Together with you, we aim to create a world where safety and freedom go hand in hand.

We are a small, diverse team with big hearts, made up of 23 employees from 8 different nationalities. We want to make the world a better place and are looking for a Test Engineer Working Student (m/f/d) to work closely with our product manager and the development team to shape and implement our platform. The goal is to make personal safety intuitive and accessible to every person on the planet — as stable as possible.

Tasks

• Assist in the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts specifically for mobile applications (iOS and Android).
• Assuring testability of our user stories from acceptance tests to release — we think that testing begins right at the start and is no annoying afterthought
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Perform manual testing on mobile devices to identify, document, and track software defects.
• Conduct regression testing to verify that new features or bug fixes have not introduced new issues.
• Participate in tech meetings and contribute to the overall testing process with fresh insights and ideas.
• Automating tests where possible

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of software testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Detail-oriented mindset with a keen eye for spotting even the smallest issues.
• Some experience in mobile app development or a solid technical understanding of how mobile apps work (e.g., how missing permissions affect functionality).
• Programming knowledge in a scripting language and experience with automated testing tools is a plus.
• Based around Munich and fluent in English (German is a plus).
