The Test Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, data migration leads, project managers, vendors, and production support teams to manage testing activities and secure business sign-off for migration readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the overall data migration testing strategy and approach.
• Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and execution schedules.
• Establish clear testing entry and exit criteria for each migration cycle.
• Plan and manage SIT, UAT, regression testing, reconciliation testing, and production validation.
• Define data validation and reconciliation approaches across source, transformation, staging, and target systems.
• Establish validation rules to verify data completeness, accuracy, integrity, consistency, and uniqueness.
• Coordinate mock migrations, trial conversions, dress rehearsals, cutover testing, and production migration validation.
• Manage end-to-end testing activities across business, technology, data, and third-party teams.
• Coordinate defect identification, logging, triage, prioritisation, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
• Track and report testing progress, risks, issues, dependencies, defect trends, and quality metrics.
• Ensure all defects are appropriately assessed and resolved or formally accepted before migration go-live.
• Validate migration results against agreed business and technical acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate post-migration checks, data verification, and production assurance activities.
• Prepare test status reports, dashboards, readiness assessments, and go/no-go recommendations.
• Facilitate test governance meetings, defect triage sessions, and stakeholder reviews.
• Ensure appropriate test evidence and documentation are maintained for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Obtain business and technology sign-offs for migration readiness and production deployment.
• Support continuous improvement of migration testing processes, tools, controls, and standards.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall software testing and quality assurance experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data migration testing.
• Proven experience leading testing activities for large-scale or complex data migration programmes.
• Strong experience in one or more banking or financial services environments.
• Practical experience with cards, payments, customer, account, transaction, or related banking data.
• Strong experience in:Data migration testing
• Reconciliation testing
• Data validation and integrity testing
• Source-to-target validation
• Mock migrations and dress rehearsals
• Production migration testing
• SIT and UAT management
• Experience defining test strategies, test plans, entry and exit criteria, and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrated experience managing defect lifecycles and coordinating resolution across multiple teams.
• Experience working with business users to support UAT execution and obtain formal sign-off.
• Strong understanding of migration cutover, rollback, contingency, and production validation processes.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and reporting abilities.
