Test Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Test Manager – Insurance Domain with 10+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including strong experience managing end-to-end testing activities for enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test management, insurance domain processes, test strategy, and automation testing exposure. The Test Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire testing lifecycle, from test planning and strategy through execution, defect management, reporting, and release readiness.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage testing teams and coordinate effectively with Business, Development, Product, and Project teams in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the entire software testing lifecycle, from test planning through production release.
• Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test approaches aligned with project objectives.
• Lead and manage testing teams across functional, integration, system, regression, UAT, and other testing activities.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple teams, projects, and stakeholders.
• Monitor test execution, defect management, test coverage, risks, and overall quality metrics.
• Ensure timely identification, tracking, escalation, and resolution of critical defects and testing risks.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, Project Managers, and business stakeholders to ensure quality and release readiness.
• Provide regular testing status reports, dashboards, metrics, and risk assessments to project and management teams.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, standards, tools, and methodologies.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to QA/Test Engineers and support the overall development of the testing team.
• Ensure appropriate testing documentation, traceability, and quality standards are maintained throughout the SDLC.
• Support test automation initiatives and identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation.
• Participate in release planning, go/no-go discussions, and production readiness assessments.

Required Skills & QualificationsExperience & Test Management

• 10+ years of experience in Software Testing, Quality Assurance, or Test Management.
• Proven experience managing the complete testing lifecycle for enterprise applications.
• Strong experience in developing test strategies, test plans, test schedules, and testing processes.
• Experience managing QA/Test teams and coordinating testing activities across multiple workstreams.
• Strong experience in defect management, risk management, test reporting, and quality metrics.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Insurance Domain

• Strong experience in the Insurance domain, preferably with 5+ years of relevant insurance experience.
• Strong understanding of:
• Policy Lifecycle Management
• Claims Processing
• Underwriting
• Billing Systems
• Insurance Products and Processes
• Insurance Compliance and Regulatory Requirements
• Experience with insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar solutions is highly preferred.

Automation & Technical Exposure

• Strong understanding and practical exposure to test automation and automation frameworks.
• Experience working with or managing automation initiatives using tools such as:
• Selenium
• Playwright
• Cypress
• Cucumber / BDD
• Understanding of API testing and validation using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, or Karate.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database testing/validation.
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps environments, including Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Zephyr, TestRail, ALM, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISTQB or equivalent QA/Test Management certification.
• Experience managing test automation transformation or continuous testing initiatives.
• Exposure to performance testing and tools such as JMeter.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications and complex integration environments.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and Continuous Testing practices.
