Make a difference as a Test Manager

As a senior-level Test Manager, you'll lead the electronics test function to protect quality, throughput, and on-time delivery in a production test lab environment. You'll set test strategy for new products, own lab execution, and act as a key technical point of contact for customer test requirements. Key responsibilities include leading and scheduling test technicians/engineers across shifts; planning staffing and development; defining the right mix of ICT, flying probe, and functional test; reviewing designs for testability and expected coverage; overseeing fixture/test-program build, debug, and release; tracking yield/throughput metrics and driving root-cause corrective actions; managing calibration/PM and audit-ready records; and supporting customer/auditor interactions.

You'll start on the floor in the test lab, checking the build plan against capacity and quickly aligning priorities across shifts. Mid-morning is often spent reviewing a new product's test approach-walking through coverage expectations, fixture readiness, and any open questions with internal partners. After lunch, you'll dig into yield dashboards and retest trends, then step to the bench to validate a tricky failure signature before documenting the path forward. Late afternoon may include a customer touchpoint to walk through coverage data or an upcoming audit need, followed by a final pass through the lab to confirm handoffs, safety/ESD discipline, and that tomorrow's schedule is set.

Lab LeadershipTeam Development

• Lead, schedule, and develop a team of test technicians and test engineers across shifts, setting clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
• Maintain schedule of product due dates and assign work to team to ensure deadlines are met.
• Own lab staffing and headcount planning, including hiring, cross-training, coaching, and performance management.
• Build a lab culture of safety, ESD discipline, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement.

Test Strategy

• Define the test strategy for new products, selecting the right mix of in-circuit, flying probe, and functional test to balance coverage, cycle time, and cost.
• Review customer designs for testability (DFT), recommend test point and access improvements, and report expected test coverage before production launch.
• Oversee development, debug, and release of test programs and fixtures, whether built in-house or sourced through outside fixture vendors.
• Serve as a primary technical contact for customers on test requirements, test procedures, and coverage reports

Test Operations, YieldFailure Analysis

• Ensure test capacity keeps pace with the production schedule and resolve bottlenecks that put customer shipments at risk.
• Track and report first-pass yield, retest rates, false failures, and throughput, and drive measurable improvement through data-driven root cause analysis.
• Lead failure analysis on test failures, returns (RMAs), and customer complaints, and present findings and corrective actions to customers and internal leadership.
• Partner with Quality, Process Engineering, and Production to feed test data back into the assembly process and prevent defects at the source

Compliance

• Maintain test equipment and fixtures through preventive maintenance and calibration programs, keeping equipment records audit-ready.
• Ensure test procedures, records, and work instructions meet customer requirements, IPC workmanship standards, ESD control requirements, and our quality management system.
• Represent the test lab during customer audits, quality system audits, and customer source inspections.

RequiredPreferred Education/Experience/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 7+ years of electronics test experience in an EMS, PCB assembly, or electronics manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years leading test technicians and/or test engineers.
• Hands-on experience developing and debugging in-circuit test (ICT) and flying probe programs on platforms such as Keysight i3070, Teradyne TestStation, Takaya, SPEA, or Seica.
• Experience developing functional test solutions using tools such as NI LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or C#.
• Strong board-level troubleshooting skills, with fluency in oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, logic analyzers, schematics, and BOMs.
• A demonstrated record of improving first-pass yield, test coverage, or throughput, with measurable results you can speak to.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ANSI/ESD S20.20, and ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Structured root cause and corrective action experience (8D, 5 Whys, fishbone, Pareto, SPC).
• Strong customer-facing communication skills, including presenting test strategy, yield data, and failure analysis findings to customers and auditors.
• Ability to support multiple shifts and respond to urgent production or customer issues outside normal hours when needed.
• Experience supporting regulated markets such as aerospace and defense (AS9100) is a plus.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.

• Constantly operates a computer, tools, and equipment related to the testing of Printed Circuit Boards.
• Frequently needs to communicate information with other members of the Test team and organization.
• Must be able to move PCBs and other items weighing up to 20lbs.
