What they need

Help make higher education tests run smoothly, and the operation behind them smarter.

When thousands of applicants complete Casper each year as part of applying to university and professional programs, there’s a team behind the scenes making sure every live test has the people and support it needs.

As our Test Operations Associate, you’ll help run the operation behind our Test Support Agents (TSAs), the people who support applicants during live tests. You’ll build rosters, coordinate coverage, track availability and training, answer questions, and help make sure payments are accurate and on time.

There’s also plenty of opportunity to make our processes better.

If you’re someone who notices the spreadsheet that takes too many steps, information being entered twice, or a repetitive task that could be automated, you’ll have room to do something about it here. You already use AI and other tools to make your own work smarter, and you’ll have opportunities to apply that mindset to real operational problems.

You’ll learn our operation from experienced teammates while bringing your own ideas and experience from the start. As your knowledge grows, you’ll take on more complex rostering and resourcing decisions, lead live tests, and help create smarter, more scalable ways of working.

You don’t need previous experience in test operations or higher education. Your experience might come from operations, customer support, administration, hospitality, education, events, logistics, or another environment with lots of moving pieces. What matters is what you’ve learned from that experience: how you organise work, solve problems, support people, improve processes, and follow through on the details.

Before you apply: We’re actively hiring for this role. This is a full-time opportunity open to candidates based in Australia with the right to work in Australia. You’ll work remotely and be employed through our Employer of Record, Deel.

Thoughtful use of AI in your application is welcome. If you use it, make sure it helps communicate your experience clearly and accurately. The strongest applications will still sound unmistakably like you.

The Work You’ll Do

Some days, you’ll be building rosters for upcoming tests, checking availability, or making sure TSA payments are ready to go. Other days, you might be responding to a last-minute scheduling change, supporting a TSA with a question, leading a live test, or digging into a process that feels more manual or complicated than it needs to be.

Make sure every test has the right support

You’ll gather TSA availability, keep track of what people are trained to do, build rosters for upcoming tests, and coordinate additional coverage when plans change.

There’s judgement involved. You might have ten people available, but that doesn’t automatically mean you have the right ten people. Different tests have different needs, TSAs bring different experience and strengths, and availability can change quickly. You’ll learn how to put those pieces together and take on increasingly complex rostering and resourcing decisions.

Be someone our TSAs can rely on

Our TSAs are contractors, but they’re an important part of how we deliver a great applicant experience. You’ll be one of the people they can turn to when they have questions, need help with a shift, or aren’t sure what to do next.

You’ll help keep communication clear, information current, and people prepared for the work ahead. As you grow, you’ll also contribute to onboarding and training new TSAs and help us understand where we may need more capacity, training, or support.

Make sure the details add up

You’ll track shifts and hours, review payment information and invoices, and work with our Finance team to make sure TSAs are paid accurately and on time.

You don’t need a finance background, but you should be comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets, checking your work, and investigating when something doesn’t look right.

Lead live tests

You’ll be trained to lead Casper test sessions yourself, coordinating the TSAs working a test, keeping an eye on how things are progressing, answering questions, and helping the team respond when something unexpected happens.

You’ll shadow experienced teammates before leading independently. Over time, you’ll become another person the team can rely on to keep live tests moving smoothly, particularly during Australian and New Zealand-friendly hours.

Help us build smarter ways of working

You’ll have opportunities to use AI, automation, and other tools to make recurring work simpler and more reliable. That could mean improving how we collect and organise TSA availability, reducing manual work in rostering or payments, making information easier to find, or helping build workflows we haven’t thought of yet.

You won’t be expected to change things before you understand them. Learn the operation first, then bring your ideas and experience to making it better.

Who You’ll Work With, and How

You’ll report to our Manager, Support and join a small Operations - Support team across Australia and Canada. You’ll be one of two Support team members currently based in Australia, helping strengthen our coverage as our work across Australia and New Zealand grows.

You’ll work closely with experienced teammates who know our test and TSA operations deeply. Expect plenty of context-sharing and shadowing early on, with more independence as your knowledge grows.

Your work will also connect you with:

  • Test Support Agents, who you’ll coordinate and support throughout their work with us.
  • Finance, who you’ll partner with to keep TSA payments accurate and on time.
  • Customer Success and Operations, whose work helps shape test schedules, applicant volumes, and the support we need to have in place.
  • Product and Engineering, sharing feedback from the day-to-day operation to help improve the tools, workflows, and products that support test delivery.
  • Your broader Support team, who you’ll work alongside to deliver live tests and solve problems as they happen.

Because much of Acuity is based in Canada, your working day won’t fully overlap with everyone else’s. We work asynchronously where we can, with intentional overlap for learning, collaboration, and team connection.

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Keep live tests running smoothly. Help make sure every test has the right people, preparation, and support in place when it begins.
  • Give TSAs a strong experience, too. Help the people supporting our applicants feel informed, prepared, and able to do their best work.
  • Catch problems before they become bigger ones. Notice when something doesn’t look right, investigate what’s happening, and help get it back on track.
  • Create capacity for the team. Take ownership of important recurring work so experienced teammates have more room to focus on analysis, planning, and what comes next.
  • Help us scale smarter. Turn what you learn from the day-to-day operation into clearer processes, better workflows, and thoughtful uses of automation and AI.

How You’ll Succeed Here

You don’t need to arrive knowing how Casper or test operations work. You do need to bring the habits and mindset that will help you learn the operation quickly and make it stronger over time.

  • You’re organised and dependable. You can keep track of moving pieces, manage recurring responsibilities, and follow through without things getting lost.
  • You notice what others might miss. A number looks wrong, information is missing, two systems don’t match, or a step hasn’t happened when it should. You stop and investigate rather than simply moving it along.
  • You like figuring things out. When something doesn’t go as expected, your instinct is to understand what happened, gather the right information, and work towards a solution.
  • You develop judgement, not just routines. You want to understand why a process works the way it does so you can make good decisions when the answer isn’t written in a checklist.
  • You have an improvement instinct. Repetitive or unnecessarily complicated work makes you curious. You look for ways to simplify, automate, document, or redesign it rather than assuming that’s just how it has to be.
  • You’re good with people. You communicate clearly, respond thoughtfully, and understand that strong operations are also about making it easier for other people to do their work well.
  • You learn and adapt quickly. You ask useful questions, apply what you learn, respond well to feedback, and become more independent as your knowledge grows.

Over time, success means becoming someone the team trusts not only to keep the operation moving, but to understand it well enough to help us make it better.

What You Might Bring

There’s no single background that prepares someone for this role. Experience with some of the following would give you useful foundations to build from:

  • Coordinating rosters, schedules, events, staffing, logistics, or other work with lots of moving pieces.
  • Working with spreadsheets, numbers, payments, invoices, or information that needs to be accurate.
  • Supporting customers, contractors, employees, students, or others who rely on you for clear information and follow-through.
  • Working across multiple systems or tools and keeping information organised between them.
  • Improving a recurring process, documenting a better way of doing something, or spotting unnecessary manual work.
  • Using AI as part of how you work. You’ve gone beyond experimenting and have used AI to solve real problems, organise or analyse information, automate repetitive work, or improve workflows. You can tell us what you tried, what worked, and where your own judgement still mattered.

Experience with workforce rostering, contractor operations, live events, test delivery, or higher education could be useful, but none of it is required.

What matters more is that you can show us how you’ve solved and improved real problems and are ready to bring what you’ve learned into a new operation.

Transparent compensation. The starting salary range is $60,000–$70,000 AUD, with final offers reflecting experience, scope, market alignment, and internal equity. A 12% employer superannuation contribution is provided through Deel.

Learning that grows with you. $3,000 AUD annually for professional and personal development.

Shared success. Eligibility to participate in Acuity Insights’ Employee Share Option Plan, with grants based on role and level.

Time to rest and reset. In addition to your annual leave entitlement, there’s flexibility to take additional time off when needed, plus monthly Acuity Days and a two-week company-wide closure each December.

Remote-first work. Work remotely from Australia, with company-provided tools and hardware and up to $150 AUD per month towards a co-working space where needed.

A note on working across time zones

Acuity is a Canadian-founded, remote-first company, with many colleagues based in North America and Europe. Some flexibility to start earlier or finish later on occasion helps create overlap for team meetings and collaboration, and we’ll be thoughtful about making that sustainable.

What Happens After You Apply

We review every application and don’t use AI to evaluate candidates, though you may be automatically screened out if you don’t meet baseline requirements such as being based in Australia and having the right to work in Australia. AI may support note-taking in some interviews, but people make every evaluation and hiring decision.

Our interviews are two-way conversations: a chance for us to understand your experience and for you to get to know Acuity, the role, and the people you’d work with. The process typically takes 2–4 weeks from first conversation to final decision.

Steps in the Process

Application Review. A member of our Talent team reviews your application.

Intro Conversation. Explore your experience, what you’re looking for next, and learn more about Acuity and the opportunity.

Hiring Manager Conversation. Dig deeper into how you approach operational work, solve problems, use judgement, learn, and work with others.

Team Conversations. Meet members of Operations - Support and explore some of the situations you might encounter in the role.

Decision. We typically make a decision within 2–4 business days after final conversations.

Offer & Reference Checks. If it’s a match, we’ll move to references and a formal offer.
