Test Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role focused on production testing, fault-finding, repairs and supporting all departments. You will play an important role in ensuring Salcom products meet our quality, performance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Test and diagnose Salcom electronic products.
• Carry out accurate and consistent production testing.
• Fault-find and repair production and customer-returned products.
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Undertake soldering and electronic assembly work.
• Program and test products prior to delivery.
• Provide feedback to Engineering and Production on product issues.
• Assist with final assembly and product repairs as required.
• Maintain accurate test records and follow quality procedures.

About you

• Previous experience in electronics testing, manufacturing, servicing or repair.
• Good soldering skills and experience working with electronic components.
• The ability to read and understand electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Experience using electronic test equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn.
• Applicable University Degree (B E), Certificate in Engineering or similar Electronics qualifications.
