Test Technician

Test Technicians work under the general direction of the Test Lead Engineer. A test technician will apply skill and expertise to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Lufkin Automation Engineering Test Team.

Duties Of An Automation Test Technician Are

• Develop, maintain, and report the results of Automated Test System regression tests
• Troubleshoot and maintain Automated Test Equipment hardware
• Maintain and organize the Automation R&D Lab
• Field test Automation firmware on location at test oil well.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to use existing and new Lufkin Automation products and their key features
• Develop test plans and test procedures to verify and validate the operation of new and existing Automation product features
• Work with Automation engineers to verify automated test procedures are up to date
• Install test procedures into the Automated Test System platform
• Provide health status report of Automation hardware received through the RMA process
• Assist in the construction of new Automated Test System test hardware
• Assist in keeping the Automation R&D Lab clean and organized
• Ensure Automation firmware performs according to requirements on pumping units designated for testing

Requirements

• Technical Requirements:

• Oral and written communication skills

• Technical writing skills

• Planning and organizational skills

• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

• Experience documenting test cases and test plans preferred

• Soldering and electronics assembly skills preferred

• Experience: Working in a previous test technician role preferred
