Tester III - Software Testing- Functional Testing

Role Description Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused Functional Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating business and functional requirements, designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring software applications meet business expectations and quality standards. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, developers, and project teams. Key Responsibilities Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS), and User Stories. Prepare comprehensive Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and Test Data. Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing activities. Identify, log, track, and verify defects using defect management tools. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements. Participate in requirement reviews and provide testability feedback. Ensure test coverage and traceability against business requirements. Support UAT activities and coordinate with business users. Prepare test execution reports and quality metrics. Ensure applications comply with functional requirements and quality standards. Primary Skills Functional Testing Test Case Design & Execution Requirement Analysis System Integration Testing (SIT) Regression Testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Defect Management & Tracking Test Planning and Documentation Secondary Skills SQL and Database Testing API Testing (Postman, Swagger) Agile / Scrum Methodology Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM Automation Testing Exposure (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) Test Management Tools Banking, Healthcare, Insurance, or Retail Domain Knowledge Basic Knowledge of Performance and Security Testing Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. Relevant experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance. Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. ISTQB certification is preferred. Preferred Competencies Strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality software. Excellent documentation and reporting skills. Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
