Testing and Calibration Engineer (Heat pump factory)

About the role

Own, manage, and perform development testing and optimization of heat pumps, related components, and test data, including refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, electronics, performance, energy efficiency, and reliability evaluations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop test plans and test conditions, conduct testing, analyze results, and prepare technical reports in compliance with product specifications, international standards, and internal requirements.
• Investigate and verify raw material issues and new components through testing, evaluation, and root cause analysis of prototypes, material approval samples, mass-production parts.
• Design, build, and maintain test equipment, jigs/fixtures, laboratory facilities, field testing system, and testing capabilities to support R&D and product validation activities.
• Manage measurement and testing equipment, including calibration scheduling, record maintenance, and compliance with applicable standards to ensure measurement accuracy, traceability, and reliability.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control and Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product testing, component validation, instrument calibration, or laboratory operations within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the heat pump, air conditioning, refrigeration, or automotive HVAC industries.
• Proven track record in setting up and operating laboratory equipment, including temperature and humidity chambers, water chillers, cooling towers, thermocouples, RTD, humidity sensors, flow meters, pressure gauges, signal transmitters (4–20 mA, 0–5 V), electrical power meters (Volt, Amp, kW, kWh), data acquisition/data logging systems, and oscilloscope.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, refrigeration and heat pump systems, Pressure-Enthalpy (P-h) diagrams, psychrometric charts, superheat, subcooling, and energy efficiency evaluation.
• Good understanding of measurement principles, measurement uncertainty, traceability, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA), with hands-on experience in calibration and verification of temperature, pressure, flow, electrical, and dimensional instruments.
• Familiarity with heat pump standards such as AS/NZS 5125-1, ISO 19967-1, and EN 16147; electrical safety standard IEC 60335; quality management standard ISO 9001; and laboratory standard ISO/IEC 17025.
• Self-motivated and self-disciplined, with a positive attitude, excellent problem-solving, coordination, and planning skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
