TESTING ENGINEER (Power Transformer)

About the role

PT Trafoindo Power Indonesia is seeking a Testing Engineer (Power Transformer) to join our engineering team in Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability and safety of our power transformer products. As a Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing and quality assurance procedures on power transformers, directly contributing to our commitment to delivering high-performance electrical equipment to our clients. This role is essential in maintaining our reputation for excellence in the power transformer manufacturing industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform and monitor electrical testing of Power Transformer in accordance with approved test procedures and standards.
• Conduct testing such as Winding Resistance, Insulation Resistance, Ratio Test (TTR), No-Load/Loss Test, Load/Loss Test, and other routine, type and special tests.
• Ensure testing activities comply with IEC, IEEE, SPLN, and customer specifications.
• Prepare and verify test reports, inspection records, and testing documentation.
• Analyze test results and identify abnormalities or deviations.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and QA/QC teams regarding testing results and corrective actions.
• Ensure testing equipment is properly used, maintained, and calibrated.
• Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and customer/third-party inspections when required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum D3/S1 Electrical Engineering, preferably with experience in Power Transformer / High Voltage / Electrical Testing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in QC Testing, preferably in Power Transformer manufacturing or electrical equipment manufacturing.
• Good knowledge of transformer testing, electrical measurement, and testing equipment.
• Familiar with IEC, IEEE standards, SPLN, and customer testing requirements.
• Able to read electrical drawings, test procedures, and technical specifications.
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing/testing environment in Tangerang.

PREFERRED

• Experience with Power Transformer up to 275 kV / 30–100 MVA.
• Experience handling FAT, customer inspection, or third-party inspection.
• Familiar with High Voltage Testing and relevant safety procedures
