Testing Specialist | Remote | Midshift (Contract-based)

Role Summary

The Testing Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance and security of applications, data platforms, cloud integrations and AI-enabled solutions. The role involves developing and executing comprehensive test strategies, validating deliverables against business requirements, and supporting all phases of testing including SIT, UAT, regression and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Strategy

• Define and implement the test strategy for applications, data platforms, cloud APIs, data pipelines, AI components, performance/security testing and automation tooling.
• Collaborate with business, development and architecture teams to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Ensure testing activities align with project delivery timelines and quality standards.

Test Execution & Defect Management

• Prepare and execute test cases, log defects, perform retesting and support regression cycles.
• Execute test scenarios, validate requirements, support UAT/SIT, retest defects and maintain quality evidence.
• Track, analyse and communicate testing progress, risks and issues.
• Ensure complete test coverage across functional and non-functional requirements.

Quality Assurance

• Validate functional and technical deliverables against requirements, acceptance criteria and quality standards.
• Verify application functionality, integration, data quality, performance, usability and security.
• Maintain test artefacts, evidence and documentation to support audits and compliance requirements.

Automation & Performance Testing

• Develop and maintain automated test suites where appropriate.
• Support performance, load and security testing activities.
• Continuously improve testing processes, frameworks and best practices.
