TEXTILE LAB ASSISTANT

Job Description

We are looking for a careful and responsible Textile Lab Assistant to join our quality and laboratory team.

You will be responsible for preparing textile samples, carrying out routine textile tests, recording test results and maintaining proper laboratory procedures to ensure fabrics and materials meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cut, label and condition fabric, yarn and fibre samples for testing.
• Perform routine physical, colourfastness and dimensional stability tests according to required test methods.
• Carry out basic pH and fibre identification tests when required.
• Record and maintain test results and laboratory documentation accurately.
• Compare test results with customer specifications, internal requirements and relevant standards.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, testing materials and general lab cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Report abnormal results, test failures or equipment issues to the Lab Manager / Quality Team.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals and testing materials.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Textile, Chemistry, Science or related field.
• Experience in textile laboratory, quality control or manufacturing is an advantage.
• Fresh candidates are welcome to apply. Training will be provided.
• Basic knowledge of textile testing methods and quality standards is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and able to record data accurately.
• Responsible, organized and willing to learn.
• Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Mandarin-speaking candidates are preferred, as the position involves communication and coordination with our China-based team.
