Theme park Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Theme Park Project Manager to join GAME ON THEMEPARK in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and delivering complex projects within our dynamic theme park environment. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects that enhance guest experiences, improve operational efficiency, and drive the strategic growth of our organisation. This role requires someone who can manage multiple stakeholder interests, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets and resource allocations for theme park initiatives, including attraction development, facility upgrades and guest experience enhancements
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including operations, engineering, marketing and guest services, to ensure alignment and effective collaboration
• Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators and report status updates to senior management and stakeholders on a regular basis
• Manage project budgets, control costs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements whilst maintaining quality standards
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases
• Liaise with external vendors, contractors and suppliers to secure services, materials and expertise required for project delivery
• Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and implement improvements for future initiatives
• Champion innovation and best practices in project management within the theme park industry

What we're looking for

• A recognised project management qualification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 or equivalent certification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in project management, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, entertainment or theme park sector
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including resource planning, risk management and stakeholder engagement
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate diverse teams
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with proficiency in presenting to senior stakeholders and external partners
• Solid understanding of health, safety and regulatory compliance requirements in the hospitality and entertainment industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a detail-oriented approach
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite
• Fluency in English; additional language skills (particularly Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin) are advantageous
• Experience working in the Kuala Lumpur region or with the Malaysian market is desirable
