About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapy Assistant to join our supportive team. You’ll play a key role in assisting therapists to deliver high-quality, person-centred therapy for clients with brain injuries and other disabilities. 
This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine impact and contribute to improving clients’ independence, confidence, and wellbeing.

What you’ll do:

• Assist therapists in implementing individualised therapy plans
• Support clients during therapy sessions, ensuring safety and comfort
• Help with therapeutic equipment and ensure it’s used safely
• Document session activities, progress, and client responses
• Encourage and motivate clients during therapy exercises and daily activities
• Communicate effectively with therapists, clients, and families
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards

This is a permanent position for 60 hours per fortnight and is located at Evolve Rehabilitation, Gisborne.

About you

You will bring:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Therapy Assistant or in a related role
• Knowledge of rehabilitation and disability support practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively
• A patient, empathetic, and compassionate approach
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• The right to work in New Zealand (essential)
