Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists in preparing and supervising patients during therapy exercises and rehabilitation activities.
• Support the setup and preparation of treatment areas, gyms, clinics, therapeutic equipment, and treatment modalities.
• Assist in conducting group therapy sessions under the supervision of therapists.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy and treatment areas.
• Coordinate patient transportation to and from therapy sessions and provide portering support when required.
• Support the supervision and coordination of healthcare attendants and portering activities within the rehabilitation area.
• Perform inventory checks and maintain records of equipment, supplies, and therapy-related materials.
• Carry out administrative duties including filing, photocopying, document preparation, distribution, and basic data entry.
• Maintain and monitor therapeutic equipment and devices to ensure readiness for use.
• Support the orientation and onboarding of new therapy assistants.
• Handle enquiries, answer telephone calls, and relay messages appropriately.

Requirements

• Minimum GCE ‘O’ Level qualification or equivalent.
• WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Therapy Support), NITEC in Community Care & Social Services, or related qualifications.
• Service-oriented with a strong commitment to patient care.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods during the course of work.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to perform data entry and administrative tasks.
