Therapy Assistant

About the role

Amaroo Care Services Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join our Wellness team in Gosnells. This is a part-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our Residents with aged care needs. As a Therapy Assistant, you will work within a supportive team to deliver leisure and lifestyle activities to enhance the quality of life and independence of our Residents. This role is essential in helping Residents to maintain their wellbeing within a supportive community environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic leisure and lifestyle activities tailored to individual Resident's needs.
• Document and record client progress and activities.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients during therapy sessions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families and the care team regarding Residents progress and wellbeing.
• Adhere to all health, safety and infection control protocols within the workplace.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Certificate in Lifestyle and Leisure or certificate III in Allied health Assistance.
• High level interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
• Demonstrate innovation and flair in program management.
• Understanding and commitment to Occupational Health & Safety.
• National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
• Hold a current flu vaccination.
• Ability to work on Friday's 9am to 4pm and on weekends 10am to 2pm.
• Prior experience working in Aged Care Setting with understanding of Aged Care Accreditation standards and relevant documentation.
