Job Summary Supermicro is seeking a Senior Power Supply Design Engineer who can lead the product design, review, and validation of server power supply and related products. The ideal engineer will not just lead a team, but will be a hands-on, and shall have 5+ years ITE server power supply design experiences, cover PFC, flyback, LLC, phase shift, power sharing, OringFET applications in mass production with records. This individual will be required to work cross-department and assist product managers as needed in product design and development.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• The Thermal Designer will be responsible for developing all aspects of the thermal design and packaging of selected products.
• Make mechanical design more precisely before sampling or tooling, directly communicate with vendors to improve design in advance
• Execute design changes, cost reductions, manufacturing methods improvements.
• Solve thermal and DFM issue.
• Design liquid-cooled PSU
• Thermal design and Mechanical design review for new and existent projects
• Thermal simulation, and improvement for new and existent projects
• Mechanical simulation and design improvements.
• Propose conceptual design packaging and mechanical
• Design/thermal simulation to be included in technical proposal

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience in engineering role or related experience
• 7+ years 3-D solid modeling and drafting experience in Creo
• Experience in thermal simulation tool (FloTHERM, XT or Icepak)
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Liquid cooling skills
