Thermal Processing Technician

About the Role

As a Thermal Processing Technician, you will play a vital role in transforming raw metal components through precise heat treatment processes. You will be responsible for managing furnace operations and quality testing to ensure every part meets rigorous industrial standards, directly impacting the durability and performance of our finished products.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate industrial furnaces and hardening equipment to achieve specific metallurgical properties.
• Execute precise loading and unloading sequences to maintain high-volume production flow.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections, including hardness testing, visual checks, and gauge measurements to ensure compliance.
• Interpret technical blueprints and operational specifications to verify part dimensions and integrity.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on processing equipment and material handling tools to minimize downtime.
• Document production data and quality records accurately to maintain traceability and process control.
• Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve non-conforming part discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to 6S and environmental safety protocols.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and quality specifications.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for equipment setup and tooling adjustments.
• Physical capability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs consistently.
• Commitment to following strict safety guidelines and wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience with heat-treating furnaces or vacuum equipment.
• Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) tracking methods.
• Experience operating forklifts or other heavy material handling machinery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
