Threat Analyst, Machine Learning Operations & Detection Efficacy (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Threat Analyst, Machine Learning Operations & Detection Efficacy (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on strengthening threat detection performance through analytical review of detection data, customer reports, and binary-file investigations.

The analyst will help reduce false positives, validate detections against internal standards, and support internal teams with clear threat-detection insights.

This position sits at the intersection of malware analysis, reverse engineering, and detection quality, with a strong emphasis on improving model and operational outcomes.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $180,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Analyze detection data and customer reports to support model improvements
• Manage and reduce false positive detections
• Investigate binary files to assess legitimacy
• Review product detections for compliance with internal standards
• Respond to internal inquiries about threat detections

Qualifications

• Understanding of various malware types and functionalities
• Experience in malware reverse engineering or operations
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, especially Python
• Basic knowledge of binary file attributes and analysis techniques
• Ability to apply analytical skills to threat and risk management
• Familiarity with multiple operating systems
