Threshold Inspector

The Role:

As a Threshold Inspector, you would be working as a representative to a licensed Special Inspector to ensure that construction is progressing in compliance with the project specifications, plans, and details. Structural inspections will include CMU, cast-in-place concrete, reinforcing steel, post-tension cable, precast/prestress members, light-gauge metal studs, wood frame systems, structural steel members / connections, and exterior window/door systems. This position requires a physical ability to navigate typical construction terrain and climb ladders to access remote areas.

Duties:

This is a diverse role and the duties include:

• Provide inspection of all structural components of a building structure in accordance with the Threshold Inspection Plan

• Verify that shoring & reshoring has been inspected by Professional Engineer for compliance with shoring plan

• Monitor concrete placement

• Create daily reports

• Attend pre-construction meetings

• Review shop drawings when necessary

• Conduct other field inspections or investigations when required

• Communicate and coordinate with project engineers, other inspectors & construction personnel

• Be able to climb ladders and safely navigate an active construction site

• Follow and support all site safety policies and procedures

• Some night and weekend work should be anticipated and is expected

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years’ verifiable experience inspecting structural components of building structures and field inspections
• Certifications from ICC, AISC and or ACI
• Candidates must be able to read construction drawings and shop drawings fluently
• Candidates must be team-oriented and work well with others
• Ability to communicate with project design and construction team
• Excellent report writing and record documentation
