THT Process Engineer

About the role

This role involves developing and implementing new manufacturing processes and methodology at THT, including Selective & Wave Process, Routing, V-Cut, UV Laser Cutting, Parts Preparation, AOI and Press Fit. You will perform process buy-off and production line readiness buy-off, and be responsible for setting up new processes, tools and fixtures for existing and new products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and methodology including Selective & Wave Process, Routing, V-Cut, UV Laser Cutting, Parts Preparation, AOI and Press Fit
• Perform process buy-off and production line readiness buy-off for machines, test software, jigs and fixtures, and work instructions
• Set up new processes, tools and fixtures for existing and new products in collaboration with Production, Product Engineer, Test, QC and Planning
• Contribute to and formulate action plans for process improvements, cycle time reduction, waste reduction, and indirect material usage optimization
• Provide comprehensive hands-on training to Engineers, Technicians, Production Staff and Operators across the production process chain
• Participate in quality discussions and drive quality improvement together with Production
• Manage machine maintenance activities, prepare maintenance plans and check sheets adhering to machine OEM recommendations
• Conduct process and machine characterization to optimize parameters and establish best known methods
• Develop process standards that are sustainable, scalable, and value-add for the company
• Manage indirect material standardization, characterization, optimization and qualification of new materials

About you

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in electronics manufacturing with focus on Engineering
• Direct hands-on experience on THT Soldering, Post THT AOI, Routing, V-Cut, Parts Preparation, UV Laser Cutting processes
• Knowledge and understanding of NPI and Prototype of products
• Strong knowledge of hardware and software operation of machines
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Safety principles
• Strong knowledge of industry standards such as IPC and J-STD
• Basic knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean
• Good command of English, written and spoken with professional communication skills
• Systematic problem-solving and decision-making with critical thinking analysis
• Well versed in fundamental statistics including Probability Stats, SPC, MSA and DOE
