TIG Welder/Pipefitter

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced TIG Welders/Pipefitters for projects located in or around Buffalo, NY. This is a first shift opportunity and the pay rate is up to $45/hour based on experience and skill level.  If you are a Welder and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career!

Job Scope:

• Read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings, and project specifications
• Complete pipe layout, fitting, and assembly of stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems
• Perform TIG and purge welding on process piping, hydraulic lines, and related assemblies
• Produce full-penetration, high-quality welds for sanitary pharmaceutical applications
• Silver braze and solder copper refrigeration lines
• Operate or learn to operate computer-controlled orbital welding equipment
• Safely operate lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and other fabrication equipment
• Maintain quality workmanship while adhering to all safety and project requirements

Requirements:

• TIG and purge welding experience
• Strong pipefitting and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to fit and weld independently with minimal supervision
• Experience working with stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and fabrication drawings
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in a job shop environment
• High school diploma or trade school training preferred
• Ability to work at heights and in confined or tight spaces
• Ability to bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship
