Tile and Block Mason

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tile and Block Mason to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out tile installation, blockwork, masonry, plastering, and related civil works for construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. All works must be completed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and site safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install floor and wall tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, and other specified tile finishes.
• Prepare substrates by cleaning, leveling, repairing, and applying screed or other required base materials.
• Set out tile layouts, establish levels and alignment, and ensure accurate installation with consistent joint spacing.
• Apply suitable tile adhesives, cement mortar, and grouting materials in accordance with project specifications.
• Carry out tile cutting, edge finishing, skirting installation, and detailing around corners, openings, and fixtures.
• Remove and replace damaged or defective tiles during renovation and maintenance works.
• Execute blockwork using concrete blocks, cement blocks, and other specified masonry materials.
• Construct block walls, partitions, and infill works according to approved drawings and required dimensions.
• Carry out block cutting, mortar mixing, jointing, leveling, plumbing, and alignment of masonry walls.
• Perform plastering, rendering, patching, and surface preparation for walls and other masonry surfaces.
• Carry out minor civil works, including filling openings, repairing cracks, and making good surfaces after MEP installations.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure proper sequencing of activities.
• Protect existing finishes, equipment, and surrounding areas during construction and renovation works.
• Ensure proper use of materials, tools, and equipment while minimizing material wastage.
• Follow company HSE procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean and safe working area.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tile Mason, Block Mason, or Tile and Block Mason.
• Practical experience in floor and wall tiling, blockwork, plastering, and civil repair works.
• Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings, dimensions, and site instructions.
• Good knowledge of tile adhesives, grouting materials, cement mortar, screed, and plastering materials.
• Ability to use tile cutters, grinders, levels, measuring tools, and other masonry equipment safely.
• Strong skills in setting out, leveling, alignment, and achieving quality finishes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.
• Good time management and commitment to completing assigned tasks within project deadlines.
• Previous experience in hospital, healthcare, commercial, or residential renovation projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of UAE construction site safety requirements is preferred.
