Tiler – Oceanfront Hotel Cairns

About us
Oceanfront Hotel Cairns is a 155-room waterfront hotel. We're looking for an experienced tiler to join our team and help keep the property looking its best.

About the role
This is a full-time role covering tiling across guest rooms, bathrooms and common areas. You'll work closely with hotel management to plan and complete renovations, repairs and ongoing maintenance, while keeping disruption to guests to a minimum.

Duties include:

• Wall and floor tiling in bathrooms, guest rooms and common areas
• Bathroom renovations and refurbishments
• Waterproofing, including preparing and sealing wet areas to standard
• Removing and replacing cracked, loose or damaged tiles
• Regrouting, resealing and silicone work
• Preparing substrates and screeding floors
• Defect rectification and room refreshes
• Keeping work areas clean, safe, dust-controlled and guest-ready

About you:

• Proven experience as a tiler, ideally in commercial, hospitality or renovation settings
• Waterproofing experience is essential
• Plastering, painting or general carpentry skills are a bonus
• QBCC licence where required for the work, including waterproofing
• White Card
• A high-quality finish and attention to detail
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Professional and respectful in a working hotel environment with guests on site
