Job Role - Till Assistant

Pay: £10.85 per hour
Age Requirement: 18–20 years old

We are looking for an energetic, friendly, and reliable Till Assistant aged 18–20 to join our retail team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in customer service, retail operations, cash handling, and merchandising.

As a Till Assistant, you will be one of the first points of contact for our customers. You will help ensure that every customer receives friendly and efficient service while keeping the checkout area organised and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register accurately and process cash, card, and mobile payments.
• Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, friendly customer service.
• Answer customer questions and assist with product enquiries.
• Keep the checkout area clean, tidy, and well organised.
• Restock shelves and help maintain attractive product displays.
• Assist with promotional activities, special offers, and appropriate upselling.
• Check and reconcile the till balance at the end of each shift.
• Report stock issues, customer feedback, and operational concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues in person, by phone, and through online enquiries.
• Follow company procedures for cash handling, customer service, health and safety, and store operations.

• An interest in retail and helping customers.
• Previous retail or till experience is helpful but not essential.
