TOM Design Consultant

• Day Rate: Up to £600 per day, outside IR35
• Location: Hybrid - client in offices in both London and Edinburgh, with ~1 day per week required in office
• Start : Immediately, need to be started no later than 30th November
• Contract: 12 months initially, with strong potential to extend

This is an opportunity to join a boutique consultancy on a significant business separation programme, helping shape the future operating model of an asset management business as it transitions to new ownership.

You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, operational design and business transformation, helping define how the business will operate independently while continuing to rely on shared services from its former parent during the transition.

Role Highlights

• Shape the future operating model: Help design the Target Operating Model for an asset management business preparing for separation and new ownership.
• Develop the transition model: Define how the business will move towards its future state while maintaining critical shared services with the former parent organisation.
• Support business separation: Contribute to the planning and design required to enable a smooth transition to a new private equity owner.
• Bridge strategy and delivery: Translate operating model design into practical transition considerations, supporting alignment across business and functional stakeholders.
• Work on a high-impact programme: Play a key role in a complex financial services transformation with the potential to continue beyond the initial contract.

You Will Need

• Previous consulting experience delivering Target Operating Model design and business transformation initiatives.
• Industry experience within financial services, ideally asset management, with broader FS&I experience also considered.
• An understanding of business separation, transition planning, shared services or operating model change.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and functional teams.
• A pragmatic, structured approach to translating strategic operating model requirements into workable solutions.
