Tool Crib Technician

Manage daily tool crib operations, including tool issuing, receiving, return and inventory control.

Prepare and issue cutting tools, holders, inserts and other tooling according to production requirements.

Maintain accurate tool inventory, stock balance and tooling records.

Monitor minimum/maximum stock levels and coordinate with Purchasing/Tooling Engineer for replenishment.

Perform tool inspection to identify worn, damaged or expired tools before re-issuing.

Manage tool life records and update tool usage/return information in the tooling management system.

Conduct regular stock count and cycle count to ensure system quantity matches physical inventory.

Ensure proper tool identification, labeling and storage according to tooling standards.

Support tool presetting, tool assembly/disassembly and measurement when required.

Prepare tooling for machine setup based on production or tooling requests.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tool crib area.

Support tooling cost control and tool consumption monitoring.

Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce tooling waste, excess inventory and unnecessary tool consumption.

Maintain records for tool replacement, tool usage, scrap and tool life.

Coordinate with Production, Tooling, Engineering and Purchasing teams to ensure tooling availability.

Follow company procedures related to 5S, safety, quality and inventory control. 

Qualifications & Requirements

Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Machining or related field.

Experience in tool crib, tool room, CNC machining or manufacturing environment is preferred.

Basic knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, inserts and machining processes.

Familiar with inventory control and tooling management.

Able to use Microsoft Excel and basic computer systems.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Able to work independently and support production requirements.

Experience with Zoller/tool presetting system is an advantage
