Tool Maker

Must carry through to completion the construction and repair of all kinds of metal parts, tools and machines. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints & written specifications. Must be familiar with the working properties of shaping metal and capable of shaping metals to precise dimensions within the specified tolerances. Must possess knowledge of shop mathematics, the use of charts and tables, the efficient planning of shop work, the dimensions and use of standard bolts, screws, threads and tappers. Set up, adjust, maintain and operate tooling equipment such as lathes, milling machines, presses, CNC's & surface grinders used in daily job activities. Ability to work with gauges, calipers, micrometers, and scales. Capable of making gauges; fixed, adjustable and template gauges. With experience work on continuous improvements projects and assist in training new people as needed. Perform all work in safe manner. Work well with co-workers as a team and keep work area clean.
