Smart Tool Solutions is seeking a self-motivated and highly skilled Tool & Die Maker / Mold Maker to join our team. This full-time role offers excellent benefits, including 401(k), health/dental insurance, 12 paid holidays, and generous PTO.

Position Summary

Fabricate, repair, and maintain molds, dies, and production fixtures for injection molding operations, ensuring high-quality results, precision tolerances, and on-time production with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to plan machining, fabrication, and repair sequences.

· Understand and maintain mold parting lines, shutoffs, and tolerances.

· Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment, including grinders, mills, lathes, and drills.

· Repair, refurbish, and restore plastic injection molds, stamping dies, and production tooling.

· Fabricate and maintain fixtures, workholding devices, and precision tooling.

· Inspect components using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, and optical comparators) to ensure tight tolerances.

· Disassemble and assemble molds for cleaning, maintenance, and repair using hand and power tools.

· Perform routine maintenance as well as complex mold and die repairs to minimize production downtime.

· Safely operate material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, jib cranes) to transport molds and tooling.

· Manage tooling schedules, preventive maintenance, and production deadlines.

· Follow written and verbal instructions and complete all documentation, work orders, and quality reports.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a toolmaker, 5 years or more.
• Hot Runner, and valve gate repair experience is a plus.
• Mold maker, or similar role in an injection molding environment.
• Proficiency with manual machines and common shop equipment, CNC is a plus.
• Strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Schedule:

• Full-time: M-F 1st Shift
