Our way of thinking is one of trust, safety and wellbeing. We are located in beautiful New Plymouth (often the sunniest region in NZ!).

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Tool Room Assistant to join our Engineering & Tooling Services team. This role supports the day-to-day operations of the Tool Room, helping to ensure production tooling is available, maintained, and ready for use in a safe and efficient manner.

About the Role

This hands-on role is responsible for supporting tooling maintenance, inventory control, workshop housekeeping and general Tool Room operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with the preparation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and storage of tooling to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Recording tooling movements and inventory information while monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or damaged items.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety within the Tool Room and surrounding work areas.
  • Safely operating workshop equipment, hand tools and power tools.

About You

You are a practical and dependable team player who enjoys working in a hands-on workshop environment. You are eager to learn new skills, flexible in your approach and willing to support different areas of the business when required.

You will bring:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn toolmaking processes.
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A positive "can-do" attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to safely handle tooling components.

Why Join Us?

  • Join a supportive and experienced team environment.
  • Opportunity to develop your skills within a specialised manufacturing business.
  • Work with industry-leading equipment and processes.
  • Be part of a company that values trust, safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.

If you're a hands-on individual who enjoys working in a workshop environment and are looking to build a career in engineering and tooling, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note: Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
