Tool Room Technician

Description:

• Perform preventive maintenance of all tools.
• Set up and run Bridgeport's, lathers, and surface grinders
• Clean the tool surfaces with the approved products.
• Knowledge of micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, ring and thread gauges.
• Inspect for, and document, any defects or damage identified.
• Use the Cold Jet tool cleaning system when applicable
• Support production departments in repairing, adjusting and maintaining all forms of equipment
• Clear all waste and cleaning products when complete
• 'Wipe any grease, oil, dirt, etc. generated during the PM from machine surfaces
• Any assignment as directed per management within the scope of personal capabilities
• Perform housekeeping of the tool and die area
• Order necessary materials to perform the assigned PM's
• Assist others in the cleaning/ repairing of molds out of the press

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to write legibly, to maintain records, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safely precautions.
• Knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, drawings for part specifications, charts, tables, and all varieties of precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
• Understanding of basic computer programs.
• Comfortable in the use of walkies and sit down forklift. Training to be provided if necessary.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Physically capable lo assist with the moving and handling of tooling components
