Job Summary

The Tooling and Automation Expert is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing engineering tools and automation solutions to improve software development efficiency and streamline technical workflows. The role involves writing Python and Bash scripts, automating repetitive development and testing tasks, supporting CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting technical issues, and improving tooling performance. The candidate will collaborate with software developers and systems engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation scripts, internal tools, and utilities to support engineering teams.
• Automate repetitive software development, testing, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Write scripts using Python, Bash, or other suitable scripting languages.
• Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with Linux operating systems, command-line tools, and development environments.
• Integrate automation tools with APIs, version-control systems, and existing engineering workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks in development and testing processes and implement improvements.
• Debug automation failures, investigate technical issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Develop automated testing utilities to improve software quality and reduce manual testing effort.
• Optimize tooling performance, reliability, and execution efficiency.
• Use Git for version control, collaboration, and source-code management.
• Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps teams, and systems engineers to understand automation requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation for scripts, tools, configurations, and workflows.
• Follow coding standards, testing practices, and software engineering best practices.
• Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve developer productivity through automation.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant experience in software tooling, scripting, workflow automation, or DevOps engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line utilities.
• Working knowledge of Git and version-control workflows.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and engineering workflows.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Basic understanding of automated testing and software quality practices.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Objective

Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,600,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
