Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer to join a growing manufacturing team in Slatersville, RI. This role will be responsible for supporting new tooling projects, reviewing mold designs, providing engineering support to the toolroom, and driving continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling, manufacturing processes, and product quality.

The ideal candidate will have experience with injection mold design, high-cavitation molding, tooling development, and project coordination within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the quoting of new tooling and product opportunities.
• Manage tooling-related projects, including timelines, costs, and deliverables.
• Review mold designs and provide recommendations regarding design, materials, and functionality.
• Provide engineering support to the toolroom and manufacturing teams.
• Drive product, process, and quality improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Participate in mold design reviews, product design reviews, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
• Troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure project success.
• Support the resolution of customer quality concerns and production challenges.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and process optimization.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years of experience in tooling engineering, mold design, or injection molding.
• Experience with injection mold design and high-cavitation molding environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred

• Experience with CAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of tooling fabrication, mold maintenance, and mold validation.
• Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Project management experience within a manufacturing environment.
