Location: Humble, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
Position On-Site
Why Join This Team?
This is an opportunity to join an established, global plastics manufacturer with more than 50 years in the industry and a major U.S. manufacturing operation right here in Humble, TX. The company designs and manufactures injection-molded consumer products used in homes every day, including home and kitchen products, storage and organization solutions, garden products, pet products, and children's outdoor products. If you enjoy hands-on mold repair and want to work somewhere your skills have a direct impact on production, this is a great opportunity. You won't be sitting behind a desk. You'll be working directly with injection molds, diagnosing problems, making repairs, completing preventive maintenance, and helping keep a high-volume manufacturing operation running efficiently.
What makes this opportunity stand out:
- Monday–Friday daytime schedule: 7:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Full-time, on-site position in Humble, TX
- Hands-on role where your tooling expertise directly impacts production
- Work with injection molds, hot runner systems, cavities, cores, slides, lifters, ejector systems, cooling circuits, and other tooling components
- Opportunity to troubleshoot problems instead of simply performing routine maintenance
- Work closely with Process, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams
- Join an established manufacturer with U.S.-based injection molding operations and a long history in plastics manufacturing
- Competitive hourly rate, 1st shift!
The Job

- Diagnose tooling issues contributing to downtime, defects, or inconsistent part quality.
- Repair, replace, adjust, or restore worn and damaged mold components.
- Inspect cavities, cores, inserts, slides, lifters, ejector systems, leader pins, bushings, and related tooling components.
- Troubleshoot and service hot runner systems, heaters, thermocouples, and associated components.
- Inspect cooling circuits, water lines, fittings, seals, and O-rings for leaks, restrictions, or damage.

- Spot in molds and verify proper fit and alignment.
- Confirm proper movement and function of mold components before returning tooling to production.
- Respond to urgent tooling breakdowns and assist with repairs needed to restore production quickly.
- Identify repeat mold failures and help develop permanent corrective solutions.
Toolroom & Technical Support
- Read and interpret mold drawings, prints, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges.
- Operate approved toolroom equipment such as grinders, drill presses, polishing equipment, and related machinery.
- Evaluate mold wear and damage to determine the appropriate repair approach.
- Support mold modifications, tooling improvements, and engineering changes.
- Participate in new mold trials, troubleshooting, and tooling validation.
- Work with Process Technicians to identify tooling-related production and quality issues.
- Assist with root-cause investigations involving mold performance and recurring failures.
Preventive Maintenance & Documentation
- Complete scheduled mold PM activities accurately and on time.
- Document mold repairs, replacement components, tooling conditions, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair histories.
- Communicate unresolved mold conditions and major repair needs to supervision.
