Steelcrest Precision is looking to add a Toolmaker to our team! This role focuses on programming and machining parts according to blueprints, drawings, and/or layouts.

Core Responsibilities:

• Program and machine parts according to blueprints, drawings, and/or layouts.
• Setup, operate, and disassemble lathes, mills, and/or grind machines.
• Verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of workpieces.
• Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
• Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind parts to specifications.
• Complete required purchase requisitions, inspection sheets, and production sheets.
• Clean and deburr parts, work area, and machine tools.
• Identify questions or concerns for customers.
• Complete high-quality work on time with minimal scrap and rework, including conducting "5 Whys" when appropriate. Perform basic preventative maintenance on machine tools and diagnose machine tool issues as needed.

Qualifications:

• Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes (e.g.,Haas and Okuma lathes/mills).
• Understanding and experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience with setup and programming, using Mastercam
• Experience reading, writing, and editing G-Code.
• Strong math abilities (decimals, fractions, etc.) and ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints.
• Ability to stand for long period of time.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years CNC machining experience; additional education or certification preferred.
• Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes (Mazak, Integrex, Milltronics, UMC, Haas,horizontal CNC, and manual lathes/mills).
• GD&T understanding and experience.
• Experience with setup and programming, using Mastercam.
• Experience reading, writing, and editing G-Code.
• Strong math abilities (decimals, fractions etc.) and ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints.
• Ability to perform quality checks.
• Must have knowledge and use of specialty tooling.
