Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, setting up, and maintaining precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds used in production processes. Your expertise will ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and with exceptional quality standards. Responsibilities

• Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to produce precise tooling components.
• Set up and operate CNC machining centers such as CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and electrical discharge machines (EDM) to manufacture tooling parts.
• Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify tool paths for accuracy.
• Perform manual machining tasks including turning, milling, grinding, welding, and fabrication to create or repair tools and dies.
• Use precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, micrometers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain detailed documentation of tooling setups, measurements, repairs, and inspections following shop protocols.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment and manual machinery to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret CAD models created in software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD for tool design.
• Assemble tooling components with hand tools and verify fit and function before deployment in production environments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements related to tooling fabrication and maintenance.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar manufacturing role with a focus on precision machining and tooling fabrication.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for designing tooling components.
• Skilled in CNC programming using CAM software; experience with CNC lathe, milling machine, grinder, EDM is essential.
• Extensive knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately.
• Hands-on experience with plastics injection molding tooling is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with shop math including measurements conversions, tolerances, and geometric calculations.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and schematics related to machinery wiring or automation systems.
• Experience working with stamping presses or other fabrication equipment is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills; capable of troubleshooting complex machinery issues efficiently.
• Knowledge of MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) practices for sustaining equipment performance over time.

Pay: $33.81 - $40.72 per hour
