Total Rewards Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Total Rewards Manager with 6–8 years of progressive C&B/Total Rewards experience within the Web3 / Crypto ecosystem.

In this dual-capability role, you will be responsible for our Web3 reward structures—including token grant allocations, token distribution mechanics, vesting schedule execution (via smart contracts/custody platforms), and Token Rights Units (TRUs) or Restricted Token Units (RTUs) administration. Concurrently, you will manage our day-to-day traditional HR operations, leading end-to-end Hong Kong payroll, MPF compliance, and global contractor/EOR setups (primarily via Deel).

Responsibilities

Web3 Total Rewards & Token Distribution

• Token Incentive Design & Execution: Administer token incentive plans (RTUs, token options, warrant grants) for employees, core contributors, and advisors.
• Vesting & Unlock Management: Oversee time-based and milestone-based token vesting schedules, lock-up periods, and Token Generation Event (TGE) allocations using smart contracts and multi-sig wallets (e.g., Safe/Gnosis).
• Token Distribution Mechanics: Coordinate with Tokenomics, Finance, and Legal teams to manage token distribution runs, wallet whitelist verifications, and gas-efficient on-chain disbursements/airdrops.
• Crypto/Token Compensation Compliance: Monitor global tax and regulatory implications related to token grants, token exercise events, and fiat-to-crypto/stablecoin compensation models.

Hong Kong Payroll

• Payroll Processing: Lead monthly end-to-end Hong Kong payroll processing, tax reporting, and salary/bonus reconciliations.
• MPF Schemes: Oversee mandatory and voluntary MPF contributions, enrollment, employee terminations, and regulatory filings.
• Tax Compliance: Manage annual HKDP (IR56B) and off-cycle tax filings (IR56E, IR56F, IR56G) with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD).

Contractor Operations & EOR Management (Deel)

• Deel Operations: Manage global contractor onboarding, agreement updates, and monthly payments via Deel.
• EOR Management: Oversee global Employer of Record (EOR) service providers to ensure compliant multi-jurisdictional employment setups, statutory benefits administration, and localized payroll.
• Invoice Auditing: Validate and approve monthly Deel invoice runs, ensuring cross-functional alignment with Finance.

Compensation Analysis

• Data Validation : Reconcile compensation data prior to compensation cycle launch to ensure accuracy throughout the cycle
• Cycle Support : Assist in configuring the compensation planning tool (e.g. excel) for Head of Rewards in facilitating various compensation cycles
• Modeling Analysis : Build financial models to cater compensation review scenarios and spending/budget summary. Provide status dashboards as appropriate.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 6–8 years of hands-on Total Rewards, Compensation & Benefits, or HR Operations experience.
• Web3 / Crypto Background: Minimum 2+ years of direct experience in a Web3 protocol, DAO, or Web3-native company.
• Token Operations: Proven track record in handling token distribution mechanics, token vesting schedules, wallet management, and token incentive plan administration.
• Hong Kong Expertise: Deep understanding of the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF Schemes Ordinance, and IRD tax rules.
• Global HR Tooling: Direct proficiency using Deel (or similar platforms like Remote or Oyster) for contractor/EOR management.
• Technical Skills: High proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) and comfort navigating Web3 tools (Safe, Token Table, Sablier, Hedgey, Web3 wallets).
• Languages: Fluent in English and Cantonese (spoken and written)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with token payroll integrations.
• Understanding of international tax considerations surrounding Web3 compensation (e.g., Section 83(b) elections, token FMV tracking).
