Tower Crane Operator

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Tower Crane Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating a tower crane safely and efficiently to lift, move, and position heavy materials on a construction site. Your expertise will ensure your safety and success.

NCCCO or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operation inspections of crane equipment, including hydraulic systems, load handling mechanisms, and safety devices.
• Follow load handling procedures in crane operations, including rigging, load securing methods, and weight limit adherence.
• Coordinate with ground personnel to facilitate material handling, ensuring clear communication during lifting operations.
• Maintain compliance with construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards at all times.
• Monitor weather conditions and site hazards that could affect crane operation safety; adjust operations accordingly.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues related to the crane or associated lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, or excavators.

Skills

• Mechanical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics, and heavy equipment operation.
• Proven experience with load securing rigging methods and rigging procedures in construction environments.
• Strong understanding of safety equipment usage and construction site safety regulations.
• Ability to operate various material handling equipment including forklifts favored.
• Knowledge of overhead crane operation and implementation of OSHA safety standards for heavy equipment use.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring safe work practices.
• Construction site experience with a focus on materials handling, shipping & receiving processes, and heavy equipment operation.
