Key Responsibilities

CMDB Architecture & Schema Design: Define, build, and scale the CMDB data model (e.g., ServiceNow Common Service Data Model - CSDM, or equivalent). Establish configuration item (CI) classes, attributes, dependencies, and relationship lifecycles.Automated Discovery & Integration: Architect and maintain automated infrastructure discovery tools. Design data ingestion pipelines and API integrations to sync data from cloud environments (AWS, Azure), virtualization layers (VMware), container platforms (Kubernetes), and network tools into the CMDB.Application Service Mapping: Lead complex service-mapping initiatives to visually map top-down relationships between business applications and underlying infrastructure components, enabling instant impact analysis for changes and outages.Data Governance & Quality Control: Establish and enforce strict data health metrics, duplicate reconciliation rules, and identification criteria. Design automated audit schedules to proactively eliminate orphan records, stale data, and compliance gaps.ITIL Process Integration: Collaborate closely with Change, Incident, Problem, and IT Asset Management (ITAM) teams to ensure the CMDB provides the required context to minimize service downtime and accelerate resolution times.Stakeholder Reporting & Analytics: Create advanced health dashboards, compliance reports, and KPIs for executive stakeholders to demonstrate CMDB accuracy, health, and operational maturity.Re

Skill Requirements

Experience: 7+ years of dedicated experience engineering, managing, and architecting enterprise-scale CMDB environments.Platform Mastery: Deep, expert-level technical knowledge of a major enterprise ITSM/CMDB platform (most notably ServiceNow, but alternatively BMC Helix, Jira Service Management, or Micro Focus).Data & Architecture Mechanics: Strong understanding of database structures, data normalization, reconciliation principles, API integration (REST/SOAP), and JSON/XML parsing.Infrastructure Literacy: Robust baseline knowledge of the assets being mapped, including Windows/Linux servers, VMware structures, networking components, cloud constructs (EC2, Azure VM), and microservices.ITIL Framework: Comprehensive mastery of ITIL v3/v4 frameworks, specifically Service Configuration Management and Service Asset Lifecycle concepts.
